WELCOME ABOARD

Welcome to the Philadelphia Commandery of the Naval Order of the United States. The Philadelphia Commandery hosts a number of educational and social events throughout the year, and builds comradery between its companions in support of the naval services. Membership in the Naval Order is by invitation only. If you have an interest, join us at one of our events.

MISSION STATEMENT

To encourage research and writing on naval and maritime subjects, preserve documents, portraits and other records of prominent figures’ deeds and memories of our naval and maritime history, and through fellowship of our members advance the Naval Order's unselfish service and worthy aims for the security and enduring well-being of our country. To foster, among all American citizens, informed interest in the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine, with the understanding that their efficiency is essential to national security and that readiness to make victory in war certain and speedy will deter aggression and minimize dangers to world peace.

Speaker:   Captain Roberto Rivera, USCG, Sector Commander for the Philadelphia Area

CAPTAIN RIVERA took command of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in
July, 2026, after serving as Deputy Sector Commander for three years. He
leads over 815 active duty, reserve, and civilian personnel, 2,100 Coast
Guard Auxiliary volunteers, and 11 Coast Guard units. A big job.

The Sector is responsible for all 11 Coast Guard missions ranging from
drug enforcement, search and rescue and securing a marine transportation
system that contributes over $141 billion annually to the regional
economy across much of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and all of Delaware
out to 200miles offshore.

COST: lunch is $70 (a slight increase). Beer tickets are $10 and
wine/mixed drink tickets are $15.
