Speaker: Valerie Stoller, author
Author Valerie Stoller will be joining us that day to "pull back the curtain" on Rosie the Riveter's world during WWII. She will also be talking about Port Chicago. Valerie grew up in New Jersey, went to college in Ohio and kept heading west until she landed in San Francisco, where she worked as a nurse practitioner. She currently lives in Oakland with her husband and their two, as she phrased it, "disobedient but adorable" cats. (She just happens to be CAPT Ken Arendt's sister-in-law, so that should add spice to the afternoon!)
Valerie just published her first novel, "Shipyard Gals", and will have copies available for purchase at the Luncheon.
We will also talk about the Port Chicago 50 Trial Site Memorial that we have been pursuing for a couple of years and will share with you the latest happenings on that front.
The Social Hour starts at 1100 with the Program commencing at noon.
