LCDR Andrew Pray earned his BA in History from the University of Florida in 1990, and a Masters In Military History in 2000 from American Military University. He was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy in 1990 via the NROTC program at Florida, and served 20 years combined in active and reserve status. He qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) and is a "Plankowner" of the USS PATRIOT (MCM-7). He deployed in 1994 with the USS INCHON (LPH-12) which included operations off Somalia and the former Yugoslavia. Additionally he served with Assault Craft Unit 4 (ACU-4) and at Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown. Reserve assignments included Military Sealift Command and the Naval History Center in Washington, DC.
In 2008 he was mobilized to support the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. He retired from the Navy Reserves in 2010.
LCDR Pray joined the Air Force History and Museum Program in April 2020 and serves as the Historian for the 927 Air Refueling Wing at MacDill AFB.
