DALE JENKINS

DALE A. JENKINS is a former naval officer who developed a career as an historian and author after a business career in the private sector. In 2022 he published Diplomats & Admirals, drawing on military and State Department original source documents, some that had been classified for 75 years. The book showed how the war with Japan need never to have occurred; a diplomatic resolution was possible as late as two weeks before Pearl Harbor. The book also details ADM Nimitz’s battle plan for a concentration of force at Midway, a plan that was not followed and was overlooked following the great victory, albeit at higher cost of ships and personnel. Jenkins is a graduate of Harvard University, where he was a NROTC student, and a MBA graduate of Columbia University.
